Crikey
Hope all's well Paul. Was trying to find an email address as i just saw that you wired your pickups out of phase on your Strat with Bill Lawrence rails in neck and bridge position. On Stratocasters the middle positions are electrically speaking in phase. There is some comb filtering going on which is caused by the string vibrating differently over different positions. In short, in case you still have the guitar, reverse the wires of your middle PU! (the Mojo one). All the best :)
Hey Paul, I just got one! I went to 3 guitarcenters and 5 stores in total to find her. By far the best sounding telecaster I played. It sure does relic fast (as you stated). The pickups are actually 62'
They're pretty good guitars. I picked up a 2003 last month for $725.Enjoying the heck out of it. My Strat hangs on the wall begging for attention nowadays.
Framuses ain’t crap, they were/are well made German instruments used by artists like the Beatles and stones.
Your kind of right in my view. That particular Framus (1972 model) wasn't something that stack up to Gibson and Fender back in the day. So calling it crap was probably too harsh.
I always do that spider chromatic scales and bend some notes there and dip tips of fingers rubbing Alcohol. Dry the skin toughen in less then two weeks
Thanks. I played hard and made it back to gigging and finished that in November of 2020. Now I’m just writing and recording.
2nd part of that first lick. I followed what you said and the fingerings. Maybe I'm wrongz but that sounds like more beats and notes. If you could clarify that would be helpful. Love the lesson and definitely the sound you have.
Gipson is - 1. Hight sustain - 5 second. / Smith and Framus - 2 . Hight sustain -4 second/ Fender -3 second
Dude you should really play the lick before trying to teach it.
Marc- Duder, maybe you’ve been quarantine too long?
Paul Pennington meaning?
Paul Pennington You start a video, go straight into teaching it without of a clear example of what you're teaching. Nothing to do with quarantine!
I saw him yesterday at The Hulen Mall
He's great!
I can promise you the one I have is in worse condition than yours. It's likely the most mangled and defiled Framus in the world, electronics-wise everything is gone and it's been crudely sanded on one side and painted with what appears to be exterior house paint on the other..the only original hardware left are the tuners. The neck is also sanded, so the laminated wood you describe is clearly visible. I've been hanging on to it for a reason though, time to start bringing it back to life..that's why I'm here watching this. Good video, clearly a guitar to keep. =)
I would also like to say, i am intrigued by Alvin's use of not only Chromatics but mixing in the major scale into the pentatonic minor.
Nice job man. Loved it. Amp needs to be turned up a bit louder but i am grateful for your video. Love looking at different, interesting ways people play and ideas they have. Thank you.
Copy cater.....
Goooooood joooooooood
Same amp i have
¡??????????????
I give up what is ??????
Man!!! Your swing is sooo... i dont have words hahaha Congratulations to years of study! Nice skill and musicality
André many thanks
Also, why is it sustain only tested by bends?
Thanks for this, can you do a video of his version of Spoonful, its different to the Cream version. thanks for posting
I can try.
Great vid! I ended up buying the same model 2nd hand after watching this vid.lol It's indeed one of the best sounding teles I've ever played...A KEEPER!
I love mine and play it at every gig tune to open G.
Glad to see you're still at it Bobby Ray!!! Miss you old friend!!!
Guitars vary. There are dead Gibsons and live Gibsons. That one is dead. Get one that has a good chunck of wood and try again. Maybe 1 out of 20. just a guess but... the same holds true to the other guitars in the test. maybe you got one of their best? Plus.... setup. are they all expertly setup? can make miles of differences. So many variables none of which were discussed and therefore a giant grain of salt when watching this vid is needed. I mean really big. like gigantic megalithic size grain of salt. Basically this video is a waist of time.
Yes on set ups but I'll try it again. We'll see.
@@Pepco54 No chorus, clean channel and all on neck pup. Dirty channels have gain. With all pup heights adjusted for maximum sustain. Set all guitars action for max sustain. All guitars restrung with same new strings. Get scientific with it. : )
will do
Está quedando genial!!
English?
Muchas gracias
@@Pepco54 I like to speak in my native language, because my English is disgusting hahaha
Paul Pennington: Great. Can you make more video of Alvin Lee repetition Triplets style improvisation something like "Good morning school girl". Alvin Lee speed blues style is very rear and I love it. Can you show us how to connect those sequences. Thanks. Cheers
I have made a video of that song and others on Alvin Lee. Check my older vids.
Hidden Channels. Yes i saw it. It's brilliant. it's very helpful and I am practicing till this concept become my second nature.I am just saying about posting some improvisation regarding to Alvin Lee style. Thanks & Cheers
Tab, tab_?
Fili Garcia I’m sorry I don’t do tabs
il Sustain che devi provare sul pulito! and if you get the right feedback with the les paul it becomes infinite!gary moore docet!
Man, I can't believe you change strings that often. That would drive me nuts. lol I really got a lot out of your John Lee Hooker video. As you well know, there are a LOT of instructional videos out there. What I appreciated was the way you got right to it. Some instructors like to hear themselves talk..so what equates to 2 minutes of real info, it's drawn out to 5 times that long (or more).
Thanks so much for watching
That's a PRS CE22 not a Standard 22.
Im not trying to brag at all..Im just sharing...Im not some kid..im 43 and a professional musician as my pop still is at 74 but Im very lucky to have 16 PRE CBS Strats and 8 Pre Cbs Teles one 51 Nocaster and one 53 sunburst Nocaster all of which my pop picked up back in the day when you could pick up early Strats for $150 while the new 61s and 62s were $250 which you have to add 15% more tp because my pop always ordered Custom Colors plus the case which he got for about $25 because he always bought guitars from that C&S MUSIC ANYWAY my point of that was regarding the Pine Tele and since I only play many of the Pre cbs gear in studio or if its a special gig so zi needed some great players and hate new guitars..Sp I got ahold off of some 177 year old Lobloly pine from a old Church that was going to be torn down..It has been abandoned for years..So I made 2 Tele style bodies which I used my 53 as a template..and I was able to make one a single one piece and the other ended up a 2 piece..I used a 66 Rosewood Tele neck on the one piece and a 50s reissue Fender neck on the other..The pups in this Tele are way to bright and lack that squish, dip, smooth creamy meck tone and over all I like mine more. Not because I built ot but because I have much better true vintage parts ..Im using a 52 flat pole bridge pup and a super round and fat 55 neck pup with 34th week of 59 250k load pots and cloth NOS Wiring and a Vintage 66 SPRING LOADED SWITCHCRAFT 3 WAY SELECTOR AND FOR TONE "i have a secret weapon for tone" Whichbis a tone cap from a late 40s tube am radio..I gotva rral phenolic black pick guard from Callaham..but the 66 neck really is a rare fantastic cbs product I sealed this one in fpps sealer and sprayed IT GUITAR RERANCH NITROCELLULOSE Mary Kaye translucent with NO CLEAR along with a custom made 100% BRASS 5 BARREL SADDLE BRIDGE which I will have on the webpage soon.Sorry for such a fckn long post..got carried awau explained my Tele..
Not a problem. I thought your comment was extremely interesting!
Thanks for pointing out the tuners. I haven't played a Breedlove's Stage model in a while. I just reviewed their Oregon Series. I don't know if you have played one of those, but if you had please check out the video and tell me what you think! Thanks.
What do you think about the new revenue sharing program by YT?
Didn't know they had one. If the revenue sharing if through ads then it would still be difficult to make money.
dude, finger slide is on wrong finger, just messing, nice post

Thanks you just demystified it for me !
Many thanks for watching!
I have the same model and finish EVH and find myself liking it even more than I thought I would. They really are versatile guitars. I liked the shape and feel of them and have looked for a while, but resisted buying one because of not wanting to by an artists signature of just about anything. However, when I found one used for $650, I took the plunge. It's been great. Lots of value in that little guitar. Enjoy!
I'm really a Strat guy but I do enjoy the EVH and I find myself wishing I would have bought maybe a used USA model. The Mexican model took a little work to get the Floyd Rose Tremolo System to work properly. I am a huge fan of EVH and his work and development of guitars and amps. I use the 5150 mini 50 watt head on a 1x12 box when playing out live because it really cuts through the stage volume. Thanks for watching.
Proud Mary was great! Loved it! "Should I stay or should I go?" Dec 2nd?! Yay! Keep it up guys!!
many thanks!
You need to correct the title. It says BREADLOVE...haha. Just an fyi...i own a ac25sr plus...i love it..have a good day!
you're right thanks!
Nice. Happy Thanksgiving!
Buddy Ollie : Many thanks!
Why can't people use their phones in landscape mode instead of vertical? Is it really that hard to figure this out?
I just love the sound of a slide on a guitar!! That was a nice little jam. I don't know much about guitar playing, but what is it about the slide that give a guitar such different sound? Is it that you can still pick notes, but by shortening up on the neck gives different pitches to those same notes? Maybe you could do a short video on the difference between a slide, fingers, and a stationary strap placed a little further down on the neck of the guitar, that you sometimes see.. That might make a great video for us who have no playing talent, but love music.. You and Heather take care!!!
unknown bogey: The slide played especially on a dobro takes you black to the sound of the black masters who created it. This is roots of blues music. I will most differently do a vid discussing all of this in the near future. Many thanks for watching!
Awesome thank you. You get it!
Rod McDonough-many thanks!
You literally just ruined boom boom
Chris Whisler : You mean for all time as in the history of the world? If so my regrets to you sir.
Nice! I have the same guitar and the 5 50+ Mesa, would not part with it !
What's gonna happen if i use that single note bending for guitar solo on stage?
You turn up the amp and hope the feedback takes you the rest of the way lol
Cool riffs!
Just FYI, that guitar has '57 classic pickups in it and it was actually built in Nashville. The Memphis division didn't exist until 1997 or 1998 if I recall correctly.
Is that right? Thanks for the info!
Yes, I have the exact same guitar. You're welcome.
Paul this is really useful instruction as, for years, I have wanted to learn that probably most used 'lick' by Alvin Lee - as in 'I'm Going Home' once the solo has warmed up) I believe originally a piano 'Lick' using triplets as you rightly say later in your instruction. Earlier though, around 2.21/2.22 minutes you say that an earlier run starts on a 'C' and I believe it's 'B' (G String 4th fret) if I am viewing correctly? 'Thought I would point this out but tell me if it is me that's wrong!! All the best, Mark Freeman U.K.
Mark: Thanks for your comment. I haven't watch this vid in years but I'll take your word that it's a B. Alvin doesn't get his due. I've seen Paige rip off his licks. Lee had roots in blues however it is many times missed is his jazz influence. Actually big band swing as well. Extremely gifted guitarist. Paul
Wow!!! Def Amazing Guitar Playing!!! So fun to watch!
many thanks!
I LOVE THIS video of you guys! Nicely Done!!
you're too kind!
